Seven shot at a candlelight vigil in Detroit

Another mass shooting at a vigil

On Sunday night, at about 10:15 PM, over one hundred people were gathered on Detroit’s west side for a candlelight vigil. The gathering was being held in honor of a man who died in a hit and run.

During the vigil, a Black male suspect opened fire on the crowd and injured seven people. One person was listed as being in critical condition and said to be “fighting for his life.”

The suspect sped away in a lime green Chevrolet Camaro. His car may have been hit by return fire.

This website has documented two other mass shootings at vigils this year. Columbus, Ohio, and Gresham, Oregon.
