2022 was another monster year for ND homicides

Even safe rural states are getting more dangerous

North Dakota was one of five states that set a new all time homicide rate record in 2020. While murders plummets in 2021, they were back up again in 2022.

The North Dakota Attorney Generals office reports thirty official homicides in 2022.

North Dakota:

2019: 24 (762k, 3.1 per 100k)
2020: 32 (765k, 4.2 per 100k) – highest rate in history
2021: 17 (774k, 2.2 per 100k)
2022: 30 (779k, 3.9 per 100k) – third highest rate in history
