“Gender nonconforming” specialist at Chicago hospital admits treatments are primarily based on anecdotal evidence

Tells parents "it's risky not to go forward with treatment"

Dr. Robert Garofalo is the Division Head of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. The hospital lists one of his specialties as gender nonconforming  (LGBTQ) youth issues. Garofalo says that placing children on puberty blockers allows them to “live their life as their more authentic self.”

Garofalo admits that prescribing young children puberty blocking medications is not based on scientific research, but rather on “anecdotal evidence.”

Garolfal also admits that he pressures parents into letting their children have puberty blocking drugs.
