Fourteen people were shot during a drive-by attack on a Chicago street corner. Another woman was hit by a car as people were fleeing. The victims include children ages 3, 11, and 13. At least six people, including the three children, are listed as serious or critical.
The attack occurred near the corner of S California Ave and W Polk St. Google Street View shows that this is a run down area where all the businesses have iron bars over their doors and first floor windows.
National media outlets have called the gathering a “Halloween party.” However, local media is reporting that a vigil and balloon release was going on. The vigil for someone who died of natural causes. There were two “male” shooters in a dark SUV.
