Trio accused of 40-100 anti-Asian hate crime attacks in the Bay Area

Attacks took place across at least three counties

After a year-long multi-jurisdiction investigation, a trio of alleged highly prolific serial predators has been arrested in Santa Clara County. Anthony Robinson, 24, and Derje Blanks, 23, were arrested on September 8th. The pair attempted to flee and crashed into a car with a father and his two-year-old child. The victims were injured in the wreck.

Cameron Moody, 27, was arrested on September 16th.

Each has been charged with dozens of felonies. The Santa Clara District Attorney has also added hate-crime enhancements to their charges. So far, they have been charged for over forty attacks. However, investigators say they could eventually be charged with over one hundred.

The trio of Black males is accused of beating and then robbing Asian victims. They primarily targeted older women. The attacks took place in cities all over the San Francisco Bay area, including Jose, San Pablo, Hayward, East Palo Alto, Newark, San Leandro, Fremont, Campbell, Dublin, and Milpitas. They span at least three counties, including Santa Clara, Alameda, and Contra Costa.
