Can California survive as the middle class flees?

For the first time in the history of the state of California, the population is experiencing an overall declined. During 2020, the population of California was reduced by 182k people, nearly a half percent.

For years, people have been fleeing California due to high taxes, high cost of living, and the state government’s far-left policies. California instituted some of the most draconian lockdown measures in the nation, further driving more people to flee the state.

While the state decline by almost a half percent, the decline in working taxpayers was much higher. The exodus from California is being primarily driven by the middle class. California is a mecha for welfare recipients and homeless due to ease of qualifying for benefits, high benefit payouts, decriminalization of shoplifting, ect.
