Joel Murphy and Elijah Robinson, both 17, were shot while walking through the front yard of US Congressman Lee Zeldin’s Long Island home. His twin daughters were home alone at the time.
The pair had just left a recording studio, where they were working on their rap album. Police say the recording studio is a known hotspot for gang members. Police believe it was a drive-by shooting, and say they may have been followed from the recording studio.
One of the victims is in critical condition with a chest wound.
At least three different prominent rappers have been murdered in NYC this year.
