Entire police force of small North Carolina town resigns over “progressively responsible” town manager

Get woke, have no police force

Kenly, North Carolina, is a small town of 1,600 people. It is about 47% White, 35% Black, and 14% Latino. On July 20th, the police chief, four full-time police officers, and two town clerks resigned in mass.

They cite town manager Justine Jones as the reason, saying she created a “toxic” and “hostile” work environment. Jones was hired less than two months ago, on June 2nd. The mayor and city council praised her as a “progressively responsible” person.

“In my 21 years at the Kenly Police Department, we have seen ups and downs. But, especially in the last 3 years, we have made substantial progress that we had hoped to continue. However, due to the hostile work environment now present in the Town of Kenly, I do not believe progress is possible.” – Josh Gibson, former Police chief.

“I have truly enjoyed working for The Town the last four years. Due to the current situations and the stress in the work area lately, my main concern is my health, and right now, I need to focus on my well-being. The work area is very hostile, and I will not let myself be around that kind of atmosphere.” – Christy Thomas, Former Kenly utility clerk.

The Mayor held an emergency meeting on July 22nd, but there was no outcome. A second emergency meeting is scheduled for this week.

Naturally, left-wing media outlets like Yahoo News and TYT suggest that all seven resigned because they don’t like Black women. It is now up to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office to take over policing the town.
