Cuba Gooding Jr serial groping case ends with actor only facing a civil violation and counseling, thanks to plea bargain

A wrist slap for the celebrity

Gooding was arrested in June 2019 after he allegedly squeezed a woman’s breast at Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge near Times Square. Afterward, more women came forward and said he did similar things at two other clubs.

He was finally given a wrist slap plea deal. He pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor forcible touching. He will get no jail time, and the charge will be dropped in six months if he gets counseling. After six months, the charge will be reduced to second-degree harassment, which is only a civil violation. He will then be required to pay a small fine.

Cuba Gooding Jr argued for leniency because he is a “celebrity figure.” He also displayed a “Black Lives Matter” facemask outside the courthouse.

Gooding also has a monetary judgment against him from a woman who sued him for rape in 2013.
