Congressman Cori Bush alleges that her car was hit by gunfire

She represents some of the most violent neighborhoods in the Western Hemisphere

Cori Bush represents Missouri’s First Congressional District and is a member of “The Squad” with five other left-wing Congressmen.

Missouri’s First District is gerrymandered to have a slight Black majority and includes some of the most violent neighborhoods in the USA.

Bush is a self-described “Black Lives Matter” activist and engages in incendiary racial rhetoric. She previously tried to incite hatred against White people by falsely claiming that “White Supremacists” repeatedly fired guns at her during violent Black Lives Matter events in 2014 and 2015. In reality, the only people who fired weapons at these events were other BLM supporters.

Bush says that her car was allegedly hit by gunfire while parked in St Louis. This alleged event occurred last Saturday morning, but she revealed it today. Bush says she was not in the car at the time.

Homicides:

1993: 267 (estimated population 382k, 69.9 homicides per 100k) former record for highest rate
2019: 194
2020: 264 (298k, 88.6 per 100k) new record for highest rate

2021: 226 (295K, 76.6 per 100k) new second place record for homicide rate

Note that some St. Louis media are reporting smaller numbers for 2021. St Louis Today says 226 and provides a list of every single one.

Despite a 17% decline in homicides, over the previous year, St. Louis still had one of the highest homicide rates in the Western hemisphere in 2021.
