Black homicide death rate is now 10.4 times the White rate

Black-on-Black homicides are growing as a percentage of all homicides

Not only have homicides surged in the USA, but the percentage of all homicides committed by and against Blacks has surged.

These charts use CDC data for deaths by assault homicide. American homicide rates exploded in 2020 when BLM rioted across the nation. However, the Black rate rose twice as much as the White rate from 2019 to 2021.

From 1999 to 2014, Blacks died of assault homicide at an average of 7.8 times the White rate. This has grown considerably, with an average ratio of 10.4 times the White rate from 2020 to 2022.

Since Blacks commit a majority of all interracial homicides, we know that the Black assault homicide death rate is not being inflated by Blacks being murdered by members of other races. If all the interracial homicides could be removed from CDC data, then the Black to White and Black to Latino ratios would be even higher.

Since 2015, Black-on-Black homicides have been growing as a proportion of all homicides. Our data on homicide suspects further confirms this conclusion. The percentage of nationwide homicide suspects who are Black has risen yearly since 2014.

Note that the dip in 2001 is because of the 9/11 attacks.
