Alleged racial incident #1
2005: Candace Owens alleges that she was attacked by three White girls from her High School while working at Blockbuster. She claims they stomped on her while screaming racial slurs. Owens asserts that they were jealous of her boyfriend and that the attack was eventually stopped by the manager.
She alleges the girls were charged with breach of the peace, illegal restraint, and intimidation by bias or bigotry. These claims never appear in her books. Despite numerous articles, from 2008-2016, about her NAACP lawsuit against the school, I couldn’t find any where this alleged incident is mentioned. The claim suddenly emerges in 2023 when Vanity Fair profiles her. The story cites actions by three girls, a lawyer, and the manager, but gives no names that could allow someone to verify the story.
Alleged racial incident #2
February 2007: Candace Owens and Evan Kopek, both students at Stamford High School in Stamford, CT, engage in a screaming match at school. Kopek has been described as her former boyfriend over the years; however, local media articles are either ambiguous or only refer to him as “a friend.”
Owens then says Kopek masterminded a multi-person campaign of racial harassment, resulting in her getting voicemail messages with death threats and n-words. She accused the police and the school of protecting the perpetrators because she fingered the son of the Mayor of Stamford. The mayor’s son said he did not know who Owens or Kopek were. The NAACP sued the school on behalf of Candace Owens.
Owens quit school for six months until Evan Kopek was charged with harassment and ethnic intimidation. It does not appear that he was ever prosecuted.
October 2007: Candace Owens was arrested for harassment, according to a local newspaper. She was still 17 at the time, and the records are sealed. The Danbury News-Times says her arrest for harassment was not related to Kopek but to another unknown person.
2008: The school district paid her $37,500 to drop the lawsuit, probably because it would have cost them much more to defeat the lawsuit in court. Stamford Mayor Dannel P. Malloy went on to become the Governor of Connecticut. No one ever admitted to any wrongdoing.
Owens alleges that the event caused her to develop “a severe eating disorder.”
2009-2014: Owens enrolled at the University of Rhode Island, where she majored in Journalism. She dropped out during her third year. She says college got her addicted to Adderall, and it was too expensive. Afterward, she alleges she worked as a “Wall Street Professional” in Manhattan. Says she worked for Vogue magazine after dropping out of college. Then she claims to have been an administrative assistant at a private equities firm where she was rapidly promoted up the ladder to vice president of administration.
Late 2015: Candace Owens launched Degree180, a left-wing girl-boss website. It featured a variety of content, some of which is anti-Trump, anti-TEA Party, anti-male, anti-White, anti-gamergate, etc. It also featured articles about sex and celebrity gossip.
April 12th, 2016: Candace Owens launched a Kickstarter fundraising campaign for a website called SocialAutopsy. The website is supposed to fight online bullying, and Owens explicitly hyped her alleged 2007 racial harassment as her credentials to be an anti-bullying advocate.
The project received criticism from both the left and the right, who called it a doxing website and a magnet for lawsuits. Many suggested it would end up being used to bully people. Her Kickstarter raised less than $5K.
Alleged racial incident #3 and the alleged catalyst for becoming a conservative
April 18th, 2016: Candace Owens publishes an extremely long tirade attacking two high-profile left-wing anti-Gamergate activists.
Owens claimed that game developer Zoe Quinn and software developer Randi Harper were secret “Cyber Terrorists” who “torpedoed her Kickstarter” and were responsible for a campaign of racial harassment against her. She says Quinn used 4Chan to incite a flood of anonymous e-mails full of racial abuse.
Among other things, Owens claimed Quinn and Harper were fraudulent anti-bullying activists who attacked SocialAutopsy, because it was a threat to their own business model.
November 2016: After two failed websites and a failed Kickstarter campaign, Owens claims that the alleged actions of Zoe Quinn and Randi Harper changed her political views. She calls herself a “former liberal” and shuts down Degree180. In 2017, she would elaborate that her failed Kickstarter campaign allegedly taught her that liberals were the “real racists” and “real trolls.”
January 2017: Candace Owens is evicted from her 16th-story luxury $3,550 per month apartment at the The Beacon in Samford, CT, by the Norwalk Housing Court. She had been living their since October 2015, but stopped paying rent six months earlier.
Owens then sued BLT for $15K, in August of 2017, claiming the apartment was full of mold and damaged her help. The alleged damage to her health included “systemic yeast infections,” wheezing, “scars requiring laser removal,” eczema, “an inability to think clearly,” and nine other ailments. BLT counter-sued for $21,300 in back rent, plus legal expenses.
Owens is eventually ordered to pay BLT $21,300 in back rent, minus her original deposit, and legal expenses, on April 1, 2021.
2017: Owens begins making YouTube videos and discovers there is a huge untapped demand for a Black female conservative. She starts a new channel called Red Pill Black, and it is immediately embraced and promoted by homosexual Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos.
Within two months of launching Red Pill Black, she was hired by TPUSA as the “Director of Urban Engagement.” Her job at TPUSA is specifically to make the group more appealing to Black audiences.
2018: Owens launches BLEXIT Foundation with Brandon Tatum. The name is co-opted from Black nationalist Me’Lea Connelly, who intended BLEXIT to be used as a term for Black people separating themselves from White society. Owens re-appropriates it to mean Blacks leaving the Democratic Party. Kanye West briefly promotes Owens. Then he publicly denounced her for falsely telling people that he designed her merchandise.
2019: Candace Owens appears to contradict her entire origin story on Fox News. She states, “I do not remember, growing up, having all of these race issues. I really don’t remember it.” This seems to directly contradict her allegations of being the victim of racial abuse in 2005 and 2007.
Owens leaves TPUSA for PragerU.
She is invited to speak at the Trump White House. She is also used by the Republican Party to testify at two congressional hearings that were intended to be used by the Democrats to paint Trump supporters as “racists” and “White Supremacists.”
During this year, Candace Owens met George Farmer at a TPUSA event in London. Eighteen days later, he proposed to her during a video chat. Farmer was born into a wealthy family, holds the title of “Honorable” in the British House of Lords, and is a member of the ultra elite Bullingdon Club (Oxford’s version of Yale’s Skull and Bones). Among other things, Farmer had briefly been the CEO of the failed social media company Parler.
A common conspiratorial theme among critics of Candace Owens is that Farmer is a secret homosexual. In May of 2016, Candace Owens endorsed straight female/homosexual male marriages on her website Degree180.
2020: Owens leaves PragerU for the Daily Wire.
Owens apologizes to Kanye West, and they become friends again.
2021: Candace Owen begins selling white-labelled Chinese Umidigi A9 Pro cellphones as “Freedom Phones” for $500 each. The phones could otherwise be purchased for $120.
2022: Owens becomes a cofounder and spokesman for an “anti-woke” online banking startup company called GloriFi. It was run out of a giant mansion owned by billionaire Toby Neugebauer and included PayPal cofounder Peter Thiel as an investor. Yet somehow it went insolvent within months.
2023: Blexit Foundation is merged with TPUSA.
2024: Candace Owens leaves Daily Wire. Returns to YouTube, alleging she was fired.
Owens offers live one-on-one video chats for thousands of dollars per minute. Then price is lowered to $1,500 per minutes, before eventually being deleted.
2025: Candace Owens published a seven-hour documentary claiming Emanuel Macron’s wife is secretly a man. For reasons unknown, big-name figures like Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, and Jimmy Dore have endorsed her documentary. It is unlikely any of them have actually watched it.
Owens alleges that Donald Trump personally called her on the phone to ask her to stop talking about the Macron family. She claimed to have uncovered a plot by the French government to assassinate her. The Macron family has filed a defamation lawsuit.
At the moment, she is generating extreme controversy by pushing wild allegations about the murder of Charlie Kirk. She has made incendiary allegations about TPUSA being involved. This has degenerated into online wars with Tim Pool and others. She also alleges that she convinced Charlie Kirk to convert to Catholicism, but he was killed before his formal conversion. She also says she turned Charlie Kirk into a fan of trashy rap music.
