Norwegian spree killer was being investigated for ties to radical Islam

Five dead, two wounded

A 37 year old man killed five people, and wounded two other, with a bow and arrows. The victims were targeted, seemingly at random, in the town of Kongsberg. Police confronted the suspect at the beginning of his rampage. However, the cops were unarmed and failed to stop him.

Some of the victims were killed inside of stores. Norwegian authorities have not released his name, but say the suspect was already under investigation for ties to radical Islam.

The suspect is a “Muslim convert.”
