Dutch conservative leader attacked by leftist militant on campaign trail

Attacks on conservative politicians are surging

Dutch conservative politician and founder of Forum for Democracy [FvD], Thierry Baudet, was attacked with a beer bottle last night while campaigning for the November 22nd House election.

FvD was founded in 2016 and gained a shock 1st place victory in the Dutch Senate election 2019 with 16%. However, since then, the party has seen the non-stop creation of splinter groups.

Two FvD splinter groups are also running in the Dutch House election on Wednesday. One is Correct Answer Answer 2021 [Ja21], and the other is Interest of the Netherlands [BVNL].

After assaulting Baudet, the attacker yelled, “down with fascism, down with Putin,” indicating that it was a politically motivated attack. Left-wing media in the Netherlands falsely calls Baudet a “fascist” and says he is working for the interests of Putin.

This comes on the heels of the brutal attempted murder of Alejo Vidal-Quadras, 78, in Madrid on November 9th, 2023. He was shot in the face in front of his apartment by two masked assailants.
