Bill Maher’s overflow segments to air on CNN as a late night show

CNN desperate for content that people are willing to watch

Overflow content from Bill Maher’s HBO show, now published on YouTube, will begin airing on CNN. This is video of Maher continuing to talk to gets after the regular HBO show has run out of time. CNN will begin airing this overflow material as a late-night show on Friday nights starting February 3rd.

This will be in direct competition with the Friday night episode of Fox New’s Gutfeld, the seventh most popular show on cable news. 

Warner Brothers owns both CNN and HBO, so they control the rights to Bill Maher’s footage.

The most-watched show on CNN is now only the 23rd most-watched on cable news.

CNN ratings are down to early 2014 levels after the network experienced a big comeback in 2013.
