General To Lam, the National Security Minister of Vietnam, led a delegation of officials from the Communist Party of Vietnam to the climate change summit in the United Kingdom.
While they were in the area, they visited the grave of Karl Marx, who is buried in North London. This worked up a significant appetite. So they went from there to Nusr-e, the new restaurant opened by celebrity chef Nusret Gökçe, AKA “Salt Bae.” Nurs-e became instantly controversial as soon it opened. The prices were so extreme they shocked most people. The restaurant is described as a place for the ultra-rich to flaunt their wealth.
Nusret Gökçe hand-fed a $2,000 steak, covered in gold dust, to General To Lam.
The majority of Vietnamese workers earn less than $1,000 per year. General To Lam’s actual salary is about $700 per month, but the government gives him “allowances.”
