Rasmus Paludan, a Danish citizen, burned a paperback Qur’an near the Turkish embassy in Sweden. This resulted in mass protests in Islamic countries. Turkey is even threatening to withdraw their support for Swedish NATO membership.
Of course the real reason for Turkish animosity against Sweden is over Sweden’s support for Kurdish radicals.
However, it is not just leaders of Muslim countries that are attacking Sweden for allowing Paludan to burn a Qur’an. Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto went an an unhinged rant claiming Russia was behind Paludan’s burning of the Qur’an. Of course, Haavisto was not able to provide any evidence that Russia is sponsoring Paludan.
