There are numerous cases of minors are selling sexually explicit images and videos of themselves on OnlyFans. Twitter has now scrapped plans to launch their own version of OnlyFans, admitting that they would be ineffective in preventing the same abuse.
Twitter is the only major social media website that still allows pornography. Despite the fact that the government threatened to shutdown Craigslist over prostitution ads, many of the same prostitutes advertise on Twitter where they can even post nude pictures of themselves. Twitter has even allowed the same kind of rape and violent fetish porn that has seen VISA & MasterCard de-platform major pornography sites. Twitter seems to get a free pass when it comes to pornography, prostitution, the glorification of sexual violence, and sexual exploitation.
However, plans to launch their own version of OnlyFans was a bridge to far. A group of eighty-four Twitter employees known as “Red Team” tested the viability of policing “Adult Content Monetization [ACM].”. Red Team reported to the executives, “Twitter cannot accurately detect child sexual exploitation and non-consensual nudity at scale.” Some have suggested Elon Musk stopped the Twitter version of OnlyFans. However, Musk probably had no influence either way.
