Two Black females allegedly looted a beauty supply store in Murrieta, California. The store says they stole about $600 worth of merchandise. Then, the alleged thieves returned to the crime scene to demand that the clerks return a dropped cell phone.
In California, they are protected from any serious prosecution. Criminals can not be charged with a felony unless they steal $950 or more. Many district attorney’s offices in California will not even bother to prosecute shoplifters anyway.
This has greatly emboldened thieves.
