The Feds also keep dropping charges against Antifa & BLM rioters in Portland

Barely anyone is being prosecuted on a local, state, or federal level

Things have gotten so bad in Portland that the NBC station just called out the Federal Department of Justice and former US Attorney for Oregon Billy Williams for their lack of prosecuting any BLM or Antifa for rioting.

In 2020, Portland police arrested over 1,000 people for rioting. So far, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s office has refused to prosecute over 91%. The local District Attorney, Mike Schmidt, is a self-described “progressive prosecutor.” BLM & Antifa rioters arrested by state police are also having most of their charges dropped.

In September of 2020, the Department of Justice alleged that they would step in and pick up the slack. US Attorney for Oregon Billy Williams publicly vowed to crack down on BLM & Antifa rioters. He said there would be “tough consequences.”

“Make no mistake: those who commit violence in the name of protest will be investigated, arrested, prosecuted, and face prison time.” – US Attorney for Oregon Billy Williams Sept 25th, 2020

Billy Williams resigned at the end of February, which is customary when a new person is elected president. However, his office already dismissed over a third of all cases against Portland rioters. Out of ninety people charged, thirty-one have had their charges dismissed so far. What is even more shocking is that most were dismissed by his office “with prejudice.” This means that if police provide more evidence of the crime, it doesn’t matter. Only a few have been prosecuted so far, and each was given a slap on the wrist plea deal.

The conclusion made by the NBC station is that the Department of Justice is completely overwhelmed and lacks the resources to actually prosecute criminals.
