Police say “teens” are carrying out a drive-by shooting war in Charlotte; 16 year old & 3 year old have been killed so far

September 5th:

Three people were shot in a drive-by shooting near the Trinity Park Apartments. Jaylen Xavier Foster, a 16-year-old Black male, was killed. Two others were hospitalized. Police arrested an unidentified 14-year-old Black male. The suspect was charged with murder, attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, possession of a firearm by a minor, and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

Three adults were shot and injured in a drive-by shooting near Lituation Lounge. No suspect has been arrested yet. Police are not claiming this drive-by is connected to the Trinity Park or Richard Rozelle Dr attacks.

September 7th:

Shooters drove to a home on Richard Rozzelle Dr in two different vehicles. At least three gunmen exited the cars and fired over 80 rounds into the house. Asiah Figueroa, a three-year-old Black male, was killed. A four-year-old female was wounded by gunfire. Police say they believe the perpetrators were “teens” and said a drive-by shooting war is going on in the city.

Other:

Shots were fired at a High School football game on September 3rd, and another home was shot at on September 7th. Police believe that these incidents are related to the deadly Trinity Park Apartments and Richard Rozelle Dr attacks.
