Jackson, Mississippi, set a new record in 2021 for the highest homicide rate in city history. It was also the highest homicide rate of any American city, with more than 100k people. In fact, it was one of the highest homicide rates in the entire Western Hemisphere.
1995: 92 (191k, 48.2 homicides per 100k) A new record at the time.
2020: 128 (157k, 81.5 homicides per 100k)
2021: 155 (154k, 100 homicides per 100k) One of the highest rates in the entire world!
Devin Fallo, 29, was murdered while sitting in his truck in Jackson on July 21st. Fallo is a recent former Jackson police officer and was currently working as a Flowood police officer.
Police have arrested Jamorian Gray, 19, and charged him with capital murder. He has been denied bail. According to police, Gray wanted to steal Fallo’s money.
