A baseball game in Chicago’s Washington Park ended in a gun battle Tuesday night. Nine people were shot, two fatally. Washington Park is currently the scene of UniverSoul Circus Chicago, however there was no performance last night.
It doesn’t look like anyone is cooperating with police. No arrests have been made and there is a $15k reward for information.
It was initially reported that “at least four” people were shot. The number of victims has steadily risen. Many of the wounded found their own way to hospitals.
Chicago exceeded 500 homicides for 2022 last week. In 2021, there were thirty entire states that had less than 500 statewide homicides.
