Italy purges hero general over his bestselling book

Book denounces clown world

Under Giorgia Meloni, the Italian government has fired Italian General Roberto Vanacci, 54, as Director of Istituto Geografico Militare [IGM], or Institute of Military Geography. The IGM was first created in 1861 and is part of the Italian Army.

Vanacci is the former head of an elite airborne brigade and has served in Somalia, Rwanda, Afghanistan, and Libya.

Vanacci is the author of a very successful book titled “Il Mondo Al Contrario.” A literal translation would be “The World on the Contrary.” A better English translation would probably be “Upside Down World” or “Clown World.”

It was published on August 10, 2023, and instantly succeeded commercially. It is currently the #1 bestselling book in Italy on Amazon. It is also ranked in the top 100 in multiple international categories.

In his book, Vanacci says that Western civilization faces a tyranny of minorities. The media denounced Vanacci as anti-gay, and the government purged him in response.
