Cellphone videos appear to confirm allegations of mass cowardice by the police. Witnesses say dozens of armed local, county, and state law enforcement officials stood outside for forty minutes and refused to intervene to stop an ongoing mass killing by Salvadore Ramos.
Eventually, four members of the US Border Patrol stormed the school and confronted Ramos. One Border Patrol agent shot and killed Ramos after being grazed in the head.
“There was at least 40 lawmen armed to the teeth but didn’t do a darn thing [until] it was far too late” – Jacinto Cazares, the father of 10-year-old victim Jackie Cazares
Juan Carranza, 24, lives across the street and witnessed everything. He says Ramos crashed his truck into a ditch and opened fire on people at a funeral home. Then he rushed into the Robb Elementary school while shooting at a security guard.
Carranza then saw Ramos open fire on the first police officers who arrived. After that, he says more and more police arrived, but they were afraid to enter the school, even as sounds of people being murdered could be heard from the outside. Cellphone video shows police officers, including county sheriff’s deputies armed with M-16s, arguing with parents and residents instead of taking any action to save children from being murdered.
The same thing happened at the Parkland, Florida shooting. Sheriff’s deputies stood down outside the Stoneman Douglas High School while a mass killer continued to murder people. Eventually, several officers were fired, and County Sheriff Scott Israel was suspended from office. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis denounced Israel for “incompetence and neglect of duty.” The Florida Senate upheld his suspension by a large margin. The police union gave him a vote of “no confidence.” Israel eventually went on to work for a police department in Davie, Florida.
