Nicholas John Roske, a 26-year-old from Simi Valley, California, was arrested near the home of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Police say he was armed with a handgun, a knife, burglary tools, and zip ties. He had allegedly threatened to murder Kavanaugh. Police say he was angry about Kavanaugh’s alleged plans to overturn Roe V. Wade. Roske also said he was mad about the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.
Police say they stopped Roske just down the road. After receiving a tip that he was coming, two Deputy US Marshalls spotted Roske exiting a taxi cab. When Roske saw the men, he fled and called 911 to report that he was a suicidal man with a gun. After being arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Police Department, he confessed his true motive to a detective. The FBI raided his Simi Valley home hours later.
Roske was charged with attempted murder.
