About fifty students at the University of Nevada-Reno marched around campus chanting for University president Brian Sandoval to unilaterally institute a mask mandate. At least one faculty member, chemistry professor Dr. Kent Ervin, also protested.
Gov. Steve Sisolak lifted a mask mandate that previously covered all University of Nevada campuses last week.
Allegedly, hundreds of students have signed a petition demanding a return of the mask mandate. Sandoval has already stated that he does not have the authority to declare a mask mandate unilaterally.
