Even when Portland’s Antifa criminals are arrested and charged with major crimes, Multnomah County District Attorney [MCDA] Mike Schmidt either drops or otherwise refuses to prosecute over 90% of the cases. In fact, Schmidt has publicly bragged on Twitter about dropping hundreds of charges against Antifa and BLM rioters. Even when they are prosecuted, they get a minor wrist slap.
Previously, Hannah Lilly was prosecuted for trying to burn down the Multnomah County Justice Center. This is a towering building that houses a police precinct headquarters, courtrooms, and a city jail. Hundreds of people could have been killed. Lilly received zero jail time. Schmidt gave her a plea deal in which she alleged she would pay a large fine and do 120 hours of community service.
Antifa was emboldened by the light sentence and attempted to burn down the Justice Center once again. They set a dumpster on fire and pushed it up against the building in hopes it would spread to the eleven-story occupied building.
Portland City Hall was also heavily damaged.
