89% of violent & sexual crimes in England & Wales are closed without prosecution

Entire country is like Chicago

The British government disclosed that 1.9 million violent or sexual crimes were closed in England and Wales during 12 months, ending in June of 2024, with no suspect ever being prosecuted.

Only 11% of reported violent or sexual crimes resulted in someone being charged.

For example, 6.9% of violent or sexual crimes resulted in someone being prosecuted in West Midlands. The UK Guardian found nine high-crime neighborhoods where zero violent or sexual crimes resulted in anyone being prosecuted during a twelve-month period.

The highest rates were 19.2% in Lancashire and 18% in Cumbria.
