A mass shooting or stabbing is defined as four or more total victims. On our list, we have all the incidents that have four or more total victims as well as three or more fatalities. We refer to these as the “deadliest” incidents.
There were fifty-eight mass shootings and two mass stabbings with three or more fatalities. The total number of deadly mass shootings in 2024 was similar to those in 2021 and 2022 but much lower than in 2023.
A fairly high percentage of deadly mass shootings and stabbings were interracial compared to past years. A total of eight of 13.3%. White people were the victim of 62.5% of these but perpetrated zero.
