USPS halts mail to 900 Seattle addresses over surge in thefts/muggings

Affected area is also the most racially diverse

The US Postal Service [USPS] has halted mail delivery to large parts of zip code 98118 in Seattle. It affects close to 900 addresses. USPS says the reason is rising thefts and vandalism.

Apparently, multiple mail carriers have been mugged and had their master keys stolen.

Residents must now go to a Post Office annex and wait in long lines to pick up their mail in person. The area affected is on the southeastern side of the city, which is the most racially diverse part of Seattle.
