A 44-year-old Ukrainian woman legally entered Germany as a war refugee and was placed at an “emergency center” in Bensheim. This is in the southern part of the German state of Hesse. The shelter was erected in March 2022 to allegedly house women and children fleeing war in Ukraine.
Instead, German media say it primarily houses illegal aliens from Morocco, Algeria, Somalia, and Syria.
Police say the Ukrainian woman was hospitalized after being beaten and hit with an iron bar just days after she arrived. Two Moroccans, aged 16 and 23, and one Algerian, aged 16, were arrested.
