Two high-profile Israeli MPs, Danny Danon Ram Ben-Barak, wrote an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal [WSJ]. They are demanding that America and Europe take in vast numbers of Israel’s Palestinians.
Critics are denouncing the pair for seeking to dump foreign migrants on the West so they can expand an ethno-state for themselves.
Danny Danon was a member of the Israeli parliament from 2009 to 2015 and returned in 2022. He was the Deputy Minister of Defense in 2014, Minister of Science in 2015, and the Israeli ambassador to the UN from 2015 – 2020.
Danon was Netanyahu’s top challenger for leadership of the Likud party in 2014. He holds the position of World Likud Chairman. This is the international wing of the Likud Party.
Ram Ben-Barak has been a member of the Israeli Parliament for Yesh Atid since 2019. He was deputy director of Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency, from 2009 to 2011. Afterward, he worked for the Israeli foreign lobby in Washington, DC. He was also chairman of Eye-Minders, a company that makes spy software.
Likud is the largest party in the Israeli parliament. Yesh Atid, a centrist party, is the second largest.
