How has Portsmouth, VA faired after seven years with a “progressive” prosecutor?

"Booty Poppin" Stephanie Morales

About 40% of Virginians now live under chief prosecutors who are self-described radicals. They belong to the Virginia Progressive Prosecutors For Justice [VPPFJ], which was created during the deadly nationwide BLM/Antifa riots of 2020. Many of these prosecutors received funding from far-left radicals, including George Soros.

Virginia, like most of America, saw a homicide surge alongside these nationwide riots. This surge continued in 2021. In 2022, much of the country saw minor declines in homicide rates. However, Virginia saw another big surge.

Virginia Homicides:

2019: 426 (8,557k, 5.0 per 100k)
2020: 524 (8,591k, 6.1 per 100k) – Highest rate since 1998
2021: 562 (8,642k, 6.5 per 100k)
2022: 621 (8684k, 7.2 per 100k) – Highest rate since 1997

Morales was elected as Commonwealth’s Attorney for the independent city of Portsmouth in 2015. She was re-elected in 2017 and 2021. She is one of the founders of VPPFJ and is praised by the far-left as a ground-breaking progressive social justice reformer for Virginia. Her campaigns have been funded by Color of Change PAC, Real Justice PAC, and others. George Soros is the number one largest contributor to Color of Change PAC.
