Gov Youngkin vetoes NAACP-backed bill to dumb down graduation requirements for Blacks

Race to the bottom

The Virginia legislature passed a bill to allow students to substitute “African American History” or “Advanced Placement African American Studies”  for their World History or Geography requirement to graduate.

National Conservative highlighted how ridiculous the AP African American Studies is back in 2023 on social media. A media outlet in Virginia showed High School students playing with Play-Doh during class to make African “masterpieces.”

The bill is HB 1824 in the House and SB 1462 in the Senate. With the backing of the NAACP, it passed by a veto-proof majority in the Senate. The House would need two more Republicans to switch their vote to override the veto.
