Faking a medical problem or even intentionally overdosing on drugs in order to avoid being arrested is becoming common. This is just another way for criminals to game the judicial system.
May 6, 2019, Minneapolis police attempted to arrest George Floyd for drugs. Officers ordered him to spit out drugs during the arrest. He was later taken to the hospital and never charged. It has been speculated that Floyd intentionally overdosed to avoid being arrested.
