Jo Ann Hardesty is a radical Black racial activist and probably the most left-wing member of Portland’s City Commission. She led efforts to defund the Portland Police Department [PPB]. The policies enacted by Hardesty and other left-wing Portland leaders have led to a dramatic explosion of violent crime in Portland.
Now Jo Ann Hardesty says she is “appalled” that citizens of Portland are hiring private security. She also accuses Portland Mayor Tim Wheeler of embracing private security. To combat the rise of private security, she is now demanding that PPB place more officers on the streets so residents do not resort to “unaccountable” private security.
