Activist & youth mentor DeShawn Leeth killed by police

Why would the police do this?

DeShawn Leeth first entered the juvenile justice system at age 11. Then, at 18, he was sentenced to prison for home invasions. After his release, he was praised by the left-wing activist community for allegedly turning his life around and mentoring other young, at-risk Black males.

In 2021, Leeth started his own non-profit called Underdawg Nation. He also became a board member for a non-profit “urban farming” group called We the People Opportunity Farm. In 2023, he was sworn in with the Washtenaw County, MI, Sheriff’s Department as a Community Engagement Specialist. Leeth is also listed as a “fellow” of the left-wing non-profit Debt Free Justice.

“Deshawn is a testament whose story shows that it is possible to come back from life’s most difficult challenges to create something positive that changes the world.” – We the People Opportunity Farm

On April 4, 2025, Leeth was shot and killed by the Pennsylvania State Police following a multi-state rampage. Police video shows Leeth attack and carjack an Ohio State Trooper. Then he wrecks and flips the cruiser over in Pennsylvania. Afterward, he refuses to get out of the wrecked cruiser while performing an exorcism on himself.
