Alex Carp is the CEO of Palantir, which makes high-tech artificial intelligence [AI] software. The US government is generally seen as their biggest customer. The US military and various US government agencies, including the CIA and NSA, use their products. Other world governments are also buying their products.
Carp spoke at Davos 2023 in Switzerland. This is a gathering of world elites. While he was at Davos, he bragged to Andrew Ross Sorkin of the New York Times that Palantir Gotham “single-handedly stopped the rise of the far-right in Europe.”
This begs a serious question. Are governments using AI to manipulate election results?
Palantir describes Gotham as an AI operating system that improves decision-making for human operators. They state, “Gotham’s built-in feedback loops train and refine models that augment human analysis and decision-making during operations. In turn, operator actions improve these models over time.”
Palantir was founded in 2003 by Peter Thiel, Nathan Gettings, Joe Lonsdale, Stephen Cohen, and Alex Karp. The company currently lists offices in sixteen countries, nine in Europe, two in the Middle East, two in East Asia, as well as America, Canada, and Australia.
