Warner Brothers have canceled two major motion pictures scheduled to be released in 2022. The movies were apparently deemed too terrible even to finish.
The first is Batgirl Leslie Grace. An early version of the movie performed so badly among test audiences that it is being dumped. Warner Brothers say they will not even release it on HBO Max because it is so bad it would hurt the brand.
Batgirl was originally supposed to cost $70 and be directed by Josh Wendon, who is famous for the Buffy, Angel, and Firefly tv shows. However, he was replaced by Moroccan directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. Due to Covid-19-related delays, costs have already spiraled to $90 million.
The second movie being dumped is an animated Scooby-Doo movie with a budget of $40 million. It is unknown how much has been spent so far, but the film was supposed to be “almost finished.” This was supposed to be a sequel to a 2020 Scooby Doo movie.
A previous Warner Brothers/DC Comics movie, Catwoman starring Halle Berry, became famous for how terrible it was. The movie was heaped with “worst film” awards.
