Previously, the Texas state government allocated $250 million for border wall constructed. Over 6,000 members of the Texas National Guard have been sent to the border to assist federal border patrol. Members of the Texas Department of Public Safety have also been deployed to work on the border.
Crews have been seen working on the Texas border wall for the past several weeks. Now, Gov. Abbott says that shipping containers will be used to supplement barriers in high traffic areas.
