On Saturday, December 16th, Elon Musk spoke at the Castel Sant’Angelo. This castle was originally built in 135 AD as a mausoleum for Emperor Hadrian. It eventually became a part of the papal states and was used as an emergency safe house for the pope during attacks.
The event was hosted by the Brothers of Italy political party and attended by Italian Prime Minister Giorgi Meloni. Musk called on Italians to have more children to preserve Italy’s unique cultural identity.
Two days later, on December 18th, the European Commission announced a giant investigation into Twitter to search for “noncompliance” with the brand-new Digital Services Act.
“We have to have the maintain the cultural identity of the various countries or they simply will not be those countries. Italy is the people of Italy.” – Elon Musk
