In 2019, a woman in Victorville, CA, called the police on her son, Ari A Young. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy Meagan McCarthy arrived at the scene.
Young then savagely beat her and took her gun. He fired it several times as she fled for her life.
Despite everything being recorded, the jury acquitted Young of attempted murder. The jury was hung on battery charges, resisting arrest, and removing a firearm from a police officer.
He was only found guilty of firing a gun with gross negligence. Young was given time served and immediately released from jail.
