Wake County K9 Deputy Ned Byrd was shot and killed on August 11th while patrolling a neighborhood in response to multiple 911 calls.
Alder Alfonso Marin Sotelo, 25, and Arturo Marin Sotelo, 29, have been charged with murder. They are illegal aliens from Mexico. A third illegal alien, Rolando Marin Sotelo, 22, was charged with illegally possessing a firearm.
Arturo Marin Sotelo had previously been deported back to Mexico in 2010. Rolando Marin Sotelo was previously deported in 2019. However, when he was recently caught by the Border Patrol again, he was released into the United States “on parole.”
