Ben West is a county commissioner for Clackamas County, Oregon. West is also a registered nurse. He says he was visiting Portland in neighboring Multnomah County when he saw a topless female junkie having a “mental health crisis.” She believed she was covered in bugs.
The woman had been using meth and fentanyl.
West says that he called 911, but no help came.
I was in Portland and came across a naked #homeless woman having a drug-induced #MentalHealth crisis. Jasmine believed she was covered in bugs. She told me she recently smoked #meth and uses #fentanyl. She is untreated which is immoral; she should be involuntarily committed, but… pic.twitter.com/Hl88sEVl7C

More evidence of failed public policies like #M110 and incompetent leadership. A failing Portland impacts the entire state negatively. We must not tolerate this urban decay. People who can’t rationally care for themselves must get compassionate treatment even if by inducement!
