Taxi driver strike in Eastern Cape turns into orgy of looting

On May 27th, Taxi drivers launched a strike in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, South Africa. The city is also known as Umtata.

Taxi drivers blocked major roads. In at least one location, local police were videotaped fleeing from the taxi drivers in a panic.

Now, thousands of people have looted trucks that were stopped at roadblocks.
