A giant mob battle occurred outside a tram station in Saint-Denis. Witnesses say it was Egyptians vs. Algerians who beat each other with pipes and boards. Police say they apprehended one man who had a board with nails in it.
Saint-Denis is a Paris suburb that is notorious for its large number of housing projects. These projects are seen as immigrant ghettos and dangerous “no go zones.” Saint-Denis became notorious as a recruitment center for radical Salafist groups fighting in Syria, including ISIS.
