A mass shooting occurred at an outdoor rap concert on the outskirts of a residential neighborhood in North Charleston, SC. Ronjanae Smith, a fourteen-year-old girl, was killed and 14 others were left with gunshot wounds.
Organizers set up a stage and a bar in a field behind the neighborhood grocery store. Police say the concert was “unauthorized.”
Witnesses say two Black males got into an argument with each other next to the stage before they both opened fire. Smith was a local resident who lived near the event.
Shootings at rap concerts are common. We have already documented numerous mass shootings at rap and hip-hop concerts that have occurred earlier this year.
