New York City’s descent into anarchy continues with three people shot in Times Square. The victims are two adult women and a four-year-old girl. All three are expected to survive.
Police say a group of Black males were arguing, and one of them pulled a gun and fired numerous shots.
Police do not believe any of the victims were the intended target of the gunman. These kinds of wild shootings have exploded in the aftermath of BLM rioting and efforts to defund, downsize, or otherwise restrict law enforcement. The FBI estimates that homicides increased 25% nationwide in 2020. Murder rates in many cities were back to all-time highs seen in the 1990s. Dozens of major cities are on track to have even higher homicide rates in 2021 than they did in 2020.
