Ritual mutilation of animals in Queens

Locals blame Hindu cult popular in Guyana

Animals are being found ritually tortured at federally-managed Spring Creek Park in Howard Beach and the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge in Broad Channel in Queens, New York.

The abusers appear to be torturing and/or killing the animals to gain favor with the Hindu goddess Kali. The animal abuser is also allegedly supposed to be purging himself on animalistic traits.

The perpetrators are believed to be Indo-Caribbean Hindu immigrants living in Richmond Hill and Ozone Park. The majority are from Guyana, on the northern coast of South America. Over 40% of Guyana’s population has a background in India. There are also large numbers of Indo-Caribbean Hindus in Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname.
